What the Catechism Says About Technology

The Catholic Church has a nuanced view of technology. It's not inherently good or evil — it's a tool that can be used for sanctification or sin.

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2293), it states that science and technology are precious resources when placed at the service of man and promote his integral development for the benefit of all. However, they cannot of themselves show the meaning of existence and of human progress.

We are called to be masters of our technology, not subjects to it.
